welcome to the second edition of "ripping off the brilliant ideas of the photographers on flickr i am constantly awed by". (the first edition was in honor of houser) in this edition, webster is mimicking the controversial photograph of (probably) flickr's most famous person, _rebekka.

why did webster choose this photo to recreate? two reasons:

1) webster is not as comfortable with his body as rebekka is, as seen in these photos, so showing any skin was out of the question.

2) rebekka made news in the times online, along with other flickr

photographers about their provacative self-portraits. the article was written by tampen, who will be another photographer i will attempt to rip off at another time.

but one of the coolest things i find about rebekka is that she is also a very talented artist.. and the fact that she bears a resemblance to cameron diaz doesn't hurt either. her non-photographic work is just as outstanding as her photography.

now the chances of her seeing this recreation is somewhere between slim and none, but i hope those of you that are familiar with her work enjoy this.

oh, and if you are going to reference her last name, get it right... it's Guðleifsdóttir.
