welcome to the second edition of &quot;ripping off the brilliant ideas of the photographers on flickr i am constantly awed by&quot;. (<a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ron_richardson/158417833/">the first edition</a> was in honor of <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/houser/">houser</a>) in this edition, webster is mimicking the <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/171966912/">controversial photograph</a> of (probably) flickr's most famous person, <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/">_rebekka</a>. <br /><br />why did webster choose this photo to recreate? two reasons:<br /><br />1) webster is not as comfortable with his body as rebekka is, as seen in <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/14326520/">these</a> <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/81996799/">photos</a>, so showing any skin was out of the question.<br /><br />2) rebekka <a rel="external" href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2089-2281433,00.html">made news</a> in the times online, along with other flickr <br /><br />photographers about their provacative self-portraits. the article was written by <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tampics/">tampen</a>, who will be another photographer i will attempt to rip off at another time.<br /><br />but one of the coolest things i find about rebekka is that she is also a very <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/11695918/">talented</a> <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/11693931/">artist</a>.. and the fact that she bears a resemblance to <a rel="external" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/11821991/">cameron diaz</a> doesn't hurt either. her non-photographic work is just as outstanding as her photography.<br /><br />now the chances of her seeing this recreation is somewhere between slim and none, but i hope those of you that are familiar with her work enjoy this.<br /><br />oh, and if you are going to reference her last name, get it right... it's Guðleifsdóttir.
